World Wide Design Week Activations

Design Week Activations Worldwide

NYCxDESIGN celebrates a world of design and draws hundreds of thousands of people each year to New York City from across the globe. As a representative of IDSA on the NYCxDesign Steering Committee, I curated, developed and executed events during the 2 week celebration to promote the value of IDSA, Industrial Design and Evangelize on the power of Design across all domains.
The experiential workshop "A Sense of New York" invites attendees to create new sensory interactions and come up with urban interventions to address specific wants and needs. The session is back by popular demand and originated when I served as Chapter Chair, IDSA NYC from 2010–2011, before the existence of New York Design Week—and may be familiar to attendees of IDC 2018 who experienced "A Sense of NOLA."

"Future of Mobility for New York City," a panel discussion moderated by Clambaneva, goes beyond the design of autonomous vehicles to explore many other challenges, like competing business models for urban mobility, as well as the holistic, sustainable systems-approach needed for NYC.

"The Augmented Designer," also moderated by Clambaneva, features a panel of digital design pioneers working at the intersection of augmented reality (AR) and industrial design as they dive deep into the latest 3D/AR/VR revolution.
Good design has the power to change the world in real and meaningful ways. Economically, socially and culturally, good design is a driving force in our lives. Denver Design Week aims to be a platform to promote dialogue and discussion about design and how it relates to our city, state and world.
With a focus on elevating the creative industry, Design Week is a seven day celebration and showcase of the region’s best architecture, interiors, art, brands and technology.
Using our five senses and the Rocky Mountains as the backdrop, we will create a collective representation of how we sense our great city of Denver. From Larimer Square’s sun-washed streets to the snow-packed peaks in the distance, to the morning aroma of LoDo’s Little Owl Coffee, please arrive to this session with your favorite sight, feel, sound, smell, or taste of Denver. We will then explore how we create richer interactions within our locale by experiencing it with the five human senses of touch, taste, smell, sound and sight. In the workshop, we’ll use storytelling and sharing as inspiration for developing even more inspired sensory interactions with the metropolitan fabric of our cities. By sharing personal sensory experiences of your own — something that has recently inspired you or represents a memorable time for you —you will collectively create, emphasize and translate this personal experience into a new, sensual map of Denver.
Every year, in April, Salone and Fuorisalone define the Milan Design Week, the most important event in the world for design.
As an integral part of the Curating, Designing and Executing team Stephan was at the third annual Design in the Age of Experience Conference to be held in Milan, Italy on April 17-22, 2018.
Design is bigger than aesthetics or products. Design is the start of sustainable experiences that changes lives and help address key challenges facing society – like climate action, dwelling, mobility, health care. Designers are at the focal point, linking form, function, and sometimes ‘magic’ to transform how we live, work and play. This is Design for Life.
As an executive, you are aware that the digital transformation sweeping the industry is a game changer for your company. As an innovator, you know that successful designs reinforce brand awareness and consumer loyalty. These trends are the basis for your company’s sustained business leadership and bottom line growth.

Each day will explore a major challenge facing the design community though a set of 6 keynote conferences, featuring exciting presentations and roundtable discussions with designer communities and thought leaders from various industries.
Come and meet with top influencers in the world of Design and discover the latest technologies revolutionizing the creation process.
